WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Our Sons Rise's Workforce Development and Job Readiness program helps individuals build practical skills for employment and economic stability. Through classroom training and hands-on learning in the beauty and barbering industry, participants develop trade knowledge, workplace readiness, and confidence as they prepare for their next chapter.
Classroom instruction includes financial literacy, money management, leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional development. Participants learn about budgeting, saving, managing business expenses, customer service, and workplace communication—skills that support both employment and future business ownership.
Through partnerships with local barbering and braiding businesses, we connect learning with apprenticeship and employment pathways for returning citizens in Washington, DC, and Prince George’s County. Our goal is to help participants apply their skills, strengthen their independence, and create a foundation for lasting personal and professional growth.
